I think I'm right with the id ?
I had thought of vorticella but I can't find any with an "eyespot"
They were mainly anchoring themselves by the tail and working round in a arc from there.
I saw some free swimming.
Quite a lot in this water sample.

A new amoeba to me.
Its the critter at top right and is probably only the test.
The brown circular one is probably an Arcella, another form of testate amoeba.
Thegreen one to the left is probably some form of lepocinclis.

I've been wondering if these two are the same sp. or 2 seperate sp. for now they are bundled together.
There were many hundreds of both in a single drop of water from this site.
The area is leaf litter etc that has been submerged for quite a few months (12+)

I nearly missed this transparent little critter.
I think it was only because I was using phase I managed to pick it up.
Constantly changing shape and putting out new psudopodia exploring it's environment.
For a single celled critter they are amazingly complex.

Amoeba test ie a shell.
Depending on which way you view them they are hollow with an opening.
I see them in quite a few water samples from Travis.
