About 30 lbs, skinny, brown with white Tufts, possibly mangey.

I saw him cross Atwood to Ludington ave, stop and pee on the bushes at the house on the corner. He looked at me while peeing, then casually ran up Ludington, went up the steps of a house.

I thought he might be someone's weird looking pet. But then I saw people posting pics of him on Facebook and the pics looked exactly like what I saw. Some say mangey fox. Some say young, mangey coyote.

Not completely sure it was a fox, but can't figure out what else it would be. If it was a fox it was very mangy--little / short grey fur, long skinny tail, stature the size of a racoon or large cat but skinny and longer legs; big ears. Eating some dead animal remains in the middle of the road. Road my bike w/in 2-3 yards of it and it noticed my presence but didn't run away.

Description

We saw a coyote or fox with mange going into two back yards, first 2409 Center Avenue, and then 10 minutes later into the back yard of 2713 Willard. It had a radio collar and ear tags on. It was loping along, not walking, not running. It looked a little orange which is why we thought it might be a fox, but it didn't have white chest or black legs. It didn't have a lot of hair because of the mange. I called Animal Control to see if they could get it to the Dane County Humane Society Wildlife Center to get treatment for the mange, and they have been trying to catch it and haven't had success yet.

Thin, coat a little scraggly, but otherwise healthy seeming coyote was in yard next door. Getting up casually as I first observed him/her outside my back window and walked across my backyard to the woodsy lot my neighbor on the other side has.

I saw five red fox on the 11th hole green at 7pm in the Odana golf course. The fixes were lounging on the green and after about 5 minutes they started to scatter. A flock of 30 geese was warily watching the foxes from the fairway at a distance of about 100 yards.

Fox (or coyote) lying flat on ground under porch, in plain view. Our dog was barking for 45 minutes before we figured out it was there. (There was a strong smell apparent when I walked on the porch above it). It finally ran off when we were investigating. Wonder if sick or young. There was a indentation in the leaves where it had been.

Around noon, what I believe was a coyote with mange came into the lawn, went to the birdbath, and drank for quite a while. It was clearly radio collared and was tagged in both ears. It sauntered away toward Burrow's Park.

There was an emaciated coyote with tracking collar and ear tags under the trees in an open space by our condo. It looks to be infected with mange - had no discernible fur left; the tail was completely hairless. We almost thought it was a different animal at first because of the lack of fur.
It stayed in the area for about 30-45 minutes, then left, traveling south. We were worried because it looked ill and spent a lot of time scratching at ears, face, etc.

Description

The coyote was walking alongside the west side of the house, between the house and driveway.
I thought it was a fox at first, but it was definitely a coyote--not large, weighing probably 30 pounds, scrawny. It was so calm that I thought it might be sick. We looked at each other for 30 seconds, three yards apart. I called my companion over, who approached and also saw the coyote, still standing and watching us. Then the animal gingerly slunk under the hedging and appeared to go east, perhaps into the fenced backyard of the house (opening in fence there). But it disappeared very effectively. I didn't see the ear tags until it was walking/slinking away from us, from behind.
