From my back sunroom, I observed a young fox coming through our yard It climbed our tree to try to get squirrels. He was 5 ft up a large cut section of a silver maple. Climbed around the trunks and gave up. He literally skipped away, doing the foxy hop. It might be one of the 4 kits born in this hood this spring.

This was a very healthy looking fox. A bit late to see it, as it was pretty light by then. Last evening I looked for the den on the Monona Golf Course, having heard very early morning yipping earlier in the week. No luck. But I did see my first of year Thrasher!

I observed a fox eating dropped seed under a bird feeder in my back yard. When it heard cars on the street, it would run for more cover, but would come back again. As I was watching with my binocs, another fox came up to the first one, bowing and tail wagging, and layed down under the first fox. The first fox groomed the second. It may have mounted it, but it was too dark to be sure. The first fox kept standing over the prone fox and grooming it. Then both foxes got up and, facing each other, they went up on hind legs and put their front paws on each other's shoulders, like a hug. Then they went off, each in its own direction. The first fox continued feeding and the second one disappeared onto the golf course. This neighboorhood is filled with tracks. So cool!

I posted this on the general installation sight too. First saw it around 2:30 PM, then twice more. It has been hunting squirrels. It has a pointy crooked tip to its tail as though it was broken, or has something up with it. This is on the last 4 inches of the tail. Otherwise looking bright, alert.
