Another early spring butterfly was attracted to the Pyxidanthera barbulata. This butterfly lingered, mostly walking among the Pixie Moss blossoms but gave me several looks at vivid blue dorsal wing surfaces during momentary brief flights.

The 1 female I located on 09/08 and she only gave me a brief look. I have my best success in open, sunny locations. I spent another hour checking Ironweed beneath the Longleaf Pines without success.
