I grew up on a small dairy farm in northern California. Winters were enjoyed listening to migrating waterfowl on the Pacific Flyway. I pursued a degree in zoology, primate social behavior was my special interest area - not too practical. Worked in environmental services, community outreach and public schools. Volunteered at wildlife rehab and nature centers, and for Sonoma State Parks. I arrived to the Central California Coast in 2011 enthralled with the beauty and rich diversity of natural history. I enjoy volunteering for the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. Not a specialist in any one area, but birds are my strongest and I have always been fascinated with animal behavior, particularly vocal communication. Tuning people to pause and “listen”, and appreciate soundscapes is a passion. Just starting to do some field recording and recently launched a voice over business. I enjoy writing, poetry, dance and exploring the many trails, parks and backyards in this bountiful state. I value programs that merge science and art; fact with fiction as I believe the best way to change people’s behavior is to inspire and engage them.
