Hello all! I’m a naturalist from Santa Clarita, California currently studying evolution, ecology, and biodiversity at UC Davis. I have a soft spot for California's plants, arthropods, birds, and herps (more or less in that order) but I enjoy observing and learning about anything I find.

Some of my favorite places to explore are Elsmere Canyon (Los Angeles County), Stebbins Cold Canyon (Solano County), Abbot's Lagoon (Marin County), Tahquitz Canyon (Riverside County) and various other little places in the Great Valley and Sierra Nevada Foothills. These places are rather special to me, but I also love documenting the biota of tiny, unassuming, and rather neglected locations.

Particular taxa I would love to learn more about and document include California's native scorpions and land molluscs.

California is an amazingly biodiverse state and I’m glad to be part of the effort to document, learn about, and preserve its natural beauty. The great author N. Scott Momaday has a quote that encapsulates how I try to interact with the Earth and live in it:

"We were ashamed, but the earth does not want shame. It wants love."
