I'm a retired school and public librarian with a particular interest in digital libraries. I am a lifelong amateur naturalist. I am fortunate that my current property incorporates several different habitats including meadows, woodland, swampy areas, a pond, an orchard and cultivated flower and vegetable gardens. Though my main area of interest is birds - that's simply because they seem like an easy place to start. I am particularly interested in cataloging all the plant and animal life that is found on my property and this site looks like a good way to do that and contribute to a larger project at the same time.
