I have a MS in forest ecology and did botanical work for the Kentucky Nature Preserves Commission (Kentucky's natural heritage program) for several years. I spent the first few years doing Natural Area Inventory looking for occurrences of high quality plant communities and spent the last few years doing rare species recovery management--mostly with federally listed plants. I have been on the Board of Woods & Waters Land Trust based in Frankfort, KY since 2007 and chair the Conservation Committee. We work within the lower Kentucky River watershed to establish conservation easements on private lands.

I am particularly interested in members of the genus Quercus.
