I am a Curator of Ornithology at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. I grew up watching and observing all sorts of "nature". I was fortunate to be in a "Junior Zoologists" club at the Cincinnati Zoo, from ages 11-14. I spend a lot of time doing native-plant gardening. I have spent a lot of time photographing herps, butterflies, and fungi, especially in NC.

I also do some bird work and training of locals, in northern Nicaragua, each winter (4-6 weeks each year).
