I'm a botanist at the Natural Heritage Information Centre (NHIC), Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), in Peterborough, Ontario, where I've been for the past 24 years. Prior to that I worked for MNR in southern Ontario based in in Aylmer, London, Chatham, and Richmond Hill, and for the Essex Region and Metro Toronto Conservation Authorities. I have a 40+ year interest in Ontario natural history, including many taxonomic groups, especially herps, vascular plants, birds, Odonata, terrestrial gastropods, Unionid molluscs, and others. Biodiversity and rare species conservation is a major theme of my work and I am a former member of COSSARO and COSEWIC. I explore natural history primarily in Ontario, but enjoy travelling throughout Canada and elsewhere.
