I am participating in an organization that monitors the Auburn Ravine watershed. The organization is called SARSAS which stands for Save Auburn Ravine Salmon and Steelhead. The Auburn Ravine is a very fragile area for migrating salmon and there are a number of environmental factors that are negatively impacting the natural migration of salmonoids. Some of these include drought, water use, water blockages and damns. It is conceivable that the natural migration and life of these fish in Auburn Ravine may become extinct. My present assignment is to monitor water temperatures in the watershed in the area of Lincoln, California.
