I live in Marin County, California where I garden, save seeds, and do some native plant restoration. I like to observe the interrelationships of weather, soil, insects, birds, wildlife and plants. Mostly I like to learn, all I can, every day. I'm a former environmental lawyer, currently a journalist and author. I wrote a book on the future of seeds and for the last 40 years have worked with indigenous people who are preserving their traditional plants and life ways.
