I'm a marine science student, currently in my last year, and like observing/identifying species around my local area. As an amateur at this, I will make mistakes, but I love when people prove me wrong so I may finally know the real answer to certain topics. This site is the closest thing I can get to how the major naturalists of the 1800's, such as Darwin, Humbolt and others, had collected and identified species from around the globe. With this, I do no harm to any fauna/flora and also get to enjoy the benefits of learning taxonomy by doing, rather than spending hours reading species ID guides.
All in all, I'm an avid amateur naturalist, and hope to improve my identifying skills as time goes on!
