I am a wildlife and conservation biologist, and am currently the Research Director for Earthwatch Institute. My research interests are wide: my doctoral research focused on raptor-songbird communities along Seattle's urban-to-wildland gradient, I have conducted frog surveys in Ohio, Washington, and Massachusetts, I frequently deploy camera traps for mammal surveys, I am interested in collaborative community-based conservation models, particularly in the context of reducing human-wildlife conflicts, and lastly, I am a huge proponent of citizen science, and providing robust structure for citizen-collected data to be validated/verified (as iNat does so well) so as to be available for analysis and contributions to policy.
