Gary Walton Curator

I look for rare vascular plants for a living but my interests also include fungi, lichens, mosses, liverworts and many kinds of invertebrates. A personal project of mine is to document as much of the biodiversity as I can on property I own in northern Minnesota. So far I am up to 351 native vascular plant species, 94 lichens, 108 fungi, 38 mosses, and 17 liverworts. As if that isn't enough I have expanded my efforts to insects (281 species) and other arthropods as well as mapping out and describing the plant communities on the property. Many, but not all, of the photos and observations I post here will be from my land.
