I work in outreach for the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, connecting people to Vermont's fish, wildlife, plants and habitats. I work in science communication but my background is as a scientist.

I have a Bachelor's in biology from Colby College, and an M.S. in organismal biology and ecology/ wildlife biology from the University of Montana, where I studied wildlife toxicology in large carnivores in the Yellowstone Ecosystem. I've captured and banded bald eagles, golden eagles, raptors, waterfowl, sage grouse, and many species of songbirds. I'm a fair birder, a so-so herper, and a terrible botanist!
