This owl has been observed at the beach for several weeks now and several attempts on my part to catch a glimpse had been unsuccessful due to over eager photographers. Photographers were found to be harassing the owl and FWS was called in. Fortunately, the owl was undeterred and stayed in the area. He has been hunting/perching along the beach about one mile from the parking area and although I enjoy the exercise, the wind can be bitter. Today was forecasted to be warm with a chance of rain and I decided to try again – I would rather be wet in 60 degree weather than 32 :-). Eureka, there he was sitting on the fence post.
