Sighted near the Dandwadi Forest Plantations field at Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. The hen was looking at the nesting hole on an Acacia catechu tree that was approximately one and a half meters above ground level stood downhill from the earth. Since there were no bark residues on the field, the hole was determined to be an old one, probably chiselled by previous breeding season. The cock was perched on a nearby tree branch, watching the hen. The hen finished her observation and flight on another branch of tree. Then cock arrived and sat beside her, and preening began courtship. Then cock performed a mate dance. After a moment, cock crawled on the back of the hen and mating began, which lasted 3 to 5 minutes. While breeding, I noticed that the eyes of the hen were dilated.
