Male Gomphidictinus perakensis obelisking

I just had a 100mm lens and I remember him taking off as I tried to get closer and coming back to the perch as I withdrew (almost as many libellulids do when disturbed or snagging prey) and adjusting his posture. Maybe this was because habitat was so restricted...I'm not sure. His preference for a small area was clear.

Last photo shows habitat. He stayed along the left margin near the shade.
