When I first saw this bird - last image in series, I thought Yellow-bellied Sapsucker with more white on the back than I normally see on Red-naped. After looking at the images, one I think it could be a hybrid YBSA x RNSA but some papers indicate RNSA in winter can have more extensive white on the back. But the incomplete black around the throat color seems to indicate other genes in there. Also, the red on the nape is limited as it can be in some YBSA. Discussion?
