Description
This specimen was flying around the elm forest in McKinney Falls State Park and stopped on a tree branch near the Homestead Trail. It is very large, being almost 6 inches from front to back and was dark grey/black. It had a pronounced thorax and front legs. It's front legs appeared to be specialized for another purpose. The insect was very loud when flying due to the large wings.
