Colenso Chameleon

We found this guy when doing a veg survey just outside Colenso. We almost drove over it with the car because it was crossing the road. Luckily we were not driving fast and when I spotted it I yelped out to the driver's dismay, thereby slamming on the brakes and saving it from an untimely annihilation.

I picked it up and released it into a tree on the other side of the road, hopefully it hasn't attempted another crossing since then.
