Description

Black Sparrowhawk Family

There were two juveniles that belonged to the Common Pair sitting on the lowest branches of the nest tree. one flew off but the other stayed, feasting on a large bird, likely a dove. the male was not happy about me being so close to his young and kept diving bombing me, flying millimetres about my head.I could feel the wind from his wings.however, he posed for several stunning photos. the puzzling thing was the two adult sparrowhawks present were both melanistic. The Common Pair are one white chested and one melanistic.
