We saw these rats in our backyard. Not sure if they are the largely neutral/beneficial native woodrats, or something horrid like a Norway or Black Rat. Coloration looks more like a woodrat, as does the shape of the ears. But the tail and feet don't appear to have any fur on them at all. My partner has seen a nest of theirs in a yucca plant in our yard, if that helps. I have more pictures, too, if people need more evidence.
