During a creek survey I found this FHYL. This remains the only adult FHYL frog I have found in the 5 mile recreation area of Bidwell Park.
Upstream of this portion of Big Chico Creek is an ecological reserve where the population of FHYL frogs is strong. The difference is at the reserve the population of bullfrogs is managed. In Bidwell Park, it is not managed at all.The bullfrogs have almost completely wiped out the population of FHYL frogs. Two different management philosophies with two very different results.
