Description

I may be overlooking something in my brief research on MPG but this appears to be Pelochrista optimana, a species for which MPG shows no Idaho records.

I had at least two or three of these on my sheet on this evening. This was in the foothills of the Pioneer Mountains, N of US 20 and N of Craters of the Moon Nat'l Monument. Habitat was a fairly steep canyon with sagebrush, scattered Rocky Mountain Junipers, and a narrow riparian corridor with willow, alder, etc. MPG has no live images and BG has no images of the species. Maybe I'm missing something.
I had a pretty good night of mothing at this location. Uploads of the array will have to wait for my return home.
