I found five small toads (or frogs?) in the damp, shady forest primarily of Douglas Firs, Western Redcedars, Madronas, Pacific Rhododendrons, and Sword Ferns. Each toad was about 3/4" long. They were dark gray-brown, perfectly camouflaged on the forest floor, with red bumps outlined in black, and large red spiny ovals behind each eye. The toes were tipped in bright yellow!
