Bluish snake, about 75 cm long & 1 cm maximum diameter, with yellow throat & under-belly, sunning on the dirt road on a cool, bright autumn afternoon. Sub-species identification could be either the Western Yellow-bellied Racer or the Yellowbelly Racer, both of which are reported from Montana.
