Namaqua Burrowing Scorpion (Opistophthalmus pallipes)

Description

Length: 100 mm; pectine tooth count: 28&29.

I’m being neither brave nor stupid having it my hand. The unfortunate scorpion was found dead in full sun in the sand of a stream bed. It was hot to the touch. Legs and pedipalps were already a little stiff. There was no odour. There was no indication of how it had died.
