Description

Common name. Black Lamp Shell

aka Hemithyris nigricans
was at one stage Tegulorhynchia nigricans. Current status Notosaria??

Much scarcer than the two red species of lamp shells.

Reportedly only found south of Bank's Peninsula. This one swam 200km to get to D'urville Is or more likely the known range is further North than officially reported.
