Layers of crowded sporangia forming one large pseudoaethalium, 100 mm x 100 mm. The upper layer of sporangia have dried forming a dark, shiny crust with blister-like swellings (i.e. bullate). The crust cracked as it dried. Sporotheca 0.5 mm diameter. Hypothallus not visible. Peridium membranous, iridescent with a thickened net just visible in some sporangia. Spores yellow‑olive, in mass, pale in transmitted light, 6‑7 µm.
