ITS DNA sequenced confirmed to match asian collections of C. strumosa. Morphologically keys to C. strumosa in Ryvarden & Johanssen 1980 Polypores East Africa.
Distinctive characters are the smooth brownish upper surface, dark brown context, pores that bruise reddish when fresh. Coriolopsis caperata is quite similar.
