One morning my wife was waddling back to her hotel room, away from home, groggy and sleepy, after her graveyard shift.

This little bird landed in her palm and refused to leave.

Looked like it was in shock, although not visibly injured. Perhaps it flew against a glass window?

The bird eventually left my wife's side, and flew to some adjacent vegetation, but not before hitting a glass window (again?)
