Description

We caught this pike on a mepps spinner when the river was still fairly high so it was a happy surprise. We don't have a lot of time to go fishing but this one turned out well. Here they call these Python fish, which to me sounds more exciting than African Pike. It measured about 20 inches long and weighed maybe a kilo and a half. I have been fishing with some of the U.S. Marines here and they have caught much larger ones of the same species, closer to 36" or more. I will happily post if I ever come across one of those!
