Description

Never got a good look at her terts or tail so I’m not sure on age.

Things that catch my eye are her nice soft gray convex hood that subtly contrasts with her dirty buffy flanks. The base of the hood is rounded and doesn’t bleed into the direction of the sides where they meet as would normally be expected on a pure Northern Slate-colored.

The gray hood also follows all the way across the back of the nape and contrasts with a more brownish mantle creating a nice clean separation.

The contrasts were much more prominent in the field and I’m a little disappointed with how much was lost in the photos. These were shot at a 3200 ISO and still coming out underexposed at 1/60th a second and I wasn’t shooting in RAW because well, I like to make things hard for myself.
