Note that the farmer has just finished mowing hay and many Bobolinks have just been killed as they were not yet ready to fledge All the surviving male and female bobolinks were so distressed. This field is over 20 acres and has many Bobolinks nesting every year. One year hay harvest was delayed and I happened to be in the field when the dozens upon dozens of fledglings took flight. Alas, I didn't have a camera with me.
