Description

This little orange/tan cup fungi with a rudimentary stem, was found in scattered clusters under Oak, Alder and Douglas fir mixed forest. It was on soil and there were many different aged specimens. The largest specimen was 11mm tall and the width of the cap was 17mm. The oder was a very strong iron/pond water or sulphur smell. The flesh was a flesh or pale tan color, and the specimen was rubbery to brittle. The spores are elliptical with no oil spot. Each asci has 8 spores in them.
