Graceful Rock Crab (Metacarcinus gracilis)

Description

I've only seen a couple of Metacarcinus gracilis (Graceful Crab) before on our local beaches, and today there were about a dozen! The gulls were eating away at the tiny orange eggs on the females' abdomens. They would then leave the poor crabs flailing on the beach.
