Hot, dry south-facing slope below cliffs. Other species include Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Saxifraga tricuspidata, Populus tremuloides. Not really a shrub thicket, but this is the closest option in the "Vegetation type (Alaska)" field. Vegetation better described as open low and dwarf shrub, with patches of barrens and partially vegetated scree.
