Photo 1:
Three Basking Turtles
Three river cooters were basking below me. They were right by the edge of the water.
Photo 2:
A Snake Joins The Turtles
All of a sudden a snake popped out of the water and joined the turtles on the ledge. The snake's body brushed against the smallest turtle.
Photo 3:
The Smallest Turtle Seems Nervous
The front turtle turned and headed for the water as the snake brushed against it. The snake had been heading away but it turned back to look at the turtles when the little one moved.
Photo 4:
Snake Decides To Leave
I guess turtles were boring to this snake. It lost interest and left the scene. The 2 larger turtles watched it go. The little turtle remained poised for a leap into the water if needed.
