First time IDing this group. Got to genus Sumitrosis using "Revision of the Tribe Chalepini of America North of Mexico. I. Genus Xenochalepus Weise (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)" at https://www.jstor.org/stable/3999261?seq=1
I'm about 85% sure this is S. inaequalis, not S. ancoroides, based on key and species descriptions in "Revision of the Tribe Chalepini of America North of Mexico IV. Genus Sumitrosis Butte (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)" at https://www.jstor.org/stable/25006143?seq=1
If you think otherwise, please let me know why. I'd like to learn.
Edit: beetle was found on clover
