Description

Edit: Carolina Chickadee is the winner!

Original post: Black Capped chickadee, deceased, on my pathway. Unfortunately, a possible “gift” from our beloved neighborhood cat. He’s extremely well fed, but did see my family in major distress on the night that I found this poor bird along my front porch pathway. I believe he brought this to us to show his feline evolved since of sympathy. He has not presented us with animals in years.

Bird: black cap, small as a young child’s palm, mostly grey body, white belly, black mask on face. Grey-black & thin legs. Small black beak. Many black-capped chickadees live in my yard.
