Description

All bushes looked old, no sign of young trees.
This is a rare, disjunct species here in Nova Scotia. Probably a relic of the time when sea levels were lower yet the climate warmer. I had thought south west Nova Scotia was once joined to the mainland which would explain why there are so many disjunct species here, but research now indicates the gap was never completely closed.
