'Tis the season for pumpkins and slugs?

Happy Fall everyone!
Given the season and our (as of late October) unseasonably warm weather, the Urban Nature Research Center team has been wondering if there are any interesting observations of local fauna making use of intact, carved, or rotting pumpkins you may have outside. Snails and slugs of various stripes have been known to dine on gourds of various kinds and we'd appreciate any of your observations posted to the SLIME project.

Below is an iNat post and an unusual book to inspire you:

Your rotting pumpkin just might be a source of fascinating observations. If you see something other than a snail or slug, please post it to the L.A. Nature Map project: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/l-a-nature-map

All the best, Jann
