Viola adunca on the North Coast

Viola adunca was identified as a host plant for the endangered Behren’s Silverspot and the Myrtle's Silverspot Butterfly. The plant itself is not a listed species, but since it is preferred by the endangered butterflies it becomes a species of interest for land managers.
The goal of the survey is to collect baseline data of the population densities of Viola adunca throughout the coastal terraces of Salt Point State Park and Fort Ross Historic Park, with potential to expand south into Sonoma Coast State Park. less ↑
