Welcome to the 2017 BioBlitz

This year we are focusing especially on Butterflies, Birds, Prairie Plants, Fish, Benthic Macro-invertebrates and Mammals. Even if you are not officially attending one of our research hikes, please add any wildlife observations to this project if you are in the park today!

Here's an overview of observation hikes leaving from the Environmental Discovery Center Today:

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Prairie Hike for All Living Things
2:00 p.m. Butterfly Release
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Herpetology Hike
4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Fish Survey
5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Fish Survey
6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Crepuscular Critters

The 2017 Indian Springs BioBlitz will count living things found in the nature study areas near the Environmental Discovery Center at Indian Springs Metropark. This event takes place Saturday, September 17 from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. We hope to document the amazing biodiversity of this area. The community is invited to join us!
