The Antelope Valley is located at the westernmost side of the Mojave desert and is surrounded by the San Gabriel Mountains, Tehachapi Mountains and Sierra Pelona Mountains. It consists of many plant communities such as Creosote Bush Scrub, Chaparral, Joshua Tree Woodland and Pinyon-Juniper Woodland. It is known for offering stunning wildflower displays in the springtime.
The Antelope Valley is home to over 475,000 people and has had a huge increase in human population since the 1980s. One third of Los Angeles County is made up of the Antelope Valley and there are very few iNaturalist sightings in this region.
Your contributions will help show how amazing the place we live is and just how much is out in our desert.
