Help to document the INVASION! South American armored catfishes (family Loricariidae) are popular aquarium fishes and have been frequently introduced outside of their native range, with established non-native populations reported from Mexico, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States. In the United States, vouchered records of loricariids exist from California, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas. Despite the potential to disrupt natural ecosystems, established non-native populations of loricariids have received little attention from natural resource management agencies. Let’s change that - we need your help identifying localities with existing populations. Post your observations here!
