Weird Winter Migrants

Winter means migrating birds fly south for the winter. For many Arctic birds, "south" means Boulder County! Winter is a great time to look for rough-legged and ferruginous hawks, as well as an influx of bald eagles. In mid January, iNaturalist willem9 even snapped pictures of a young snowy owl at the Boulder Reservoir!

This is such a beautifully camouflaged winter bird. Fantastic photo.
