Clay Pit Ponds (Staten Island) Mini Nature Challenge this Saturday! March 17

Great job last Saturday, NYC observers! The second mini challenge at Oakland Lake was even better than the first at Randall's Island. You added 732 observations of 144 species at Alley Pond Park! This Saturday, March 17, our friends at the NYC Ecoflora Project have organized a third Mini Nature Challenge at Clay Pit Ponds State Park on Staten Island!

The Clay Pit Ponds Mini Nature Challenge will be from 10am-12pm on Saturday, March 17. Meet at The Nature Interpretive Center, 2351 Veterans Road West, Staten Island. Everyone is welcome to join! Dress appropriately for the weather and bring your fully-charged smartphone or camera. The area is known to have ticks, so bring insect repellent. It will be a great opportunity to learn some iNaturalist tips, interact with local nature lovers, and even get to meet some iNaturalist power users! Click here for more info.

Here are the dates for the next Mini Nature Challenges (details will follow for each event):
March 24, Soundview Park, Bronx
April 19, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn (Note this one is a Thursday)
